Greyscale images are very hard to get perfect for printing, especially on cheaper pieces of hardware, as the black and white output of most inkjet printers leaves a lot to be desired in terms of contrast and clarity. However by adding an extra tone to a greyscale image not only can you change the mood but also improve the chances of a high-quality printout; with another layer of ink at its disposal the printer is able to create more tones and therefore separate the image into a wider variety of possible outputs. This will mean the contrast and colour separation in the printout should be much better and your stale greyscale image has also gained a new warmth and depth as a result. |
